Although the Apex Court has granted bail to Dr. Binayak Sen on May 25 after two-year long unjust incarceration, his arrest and assaults indicate abuse of laws and murder of democracy. One can’t even speak anything for the cause of the public if it goes against the sentiment of the government bearers. The real facts are moulded to fall into various laws and concerned people are tortured in police custody without any investigation. The situation with Dr. Sen is not the first one, but such affairs happen quite often in India. On the other hand, government officials are hardly held responsible for violating laws. Then, where lies the democracy that held freelance activists responsible?
